How we engineer

Packaging science, built to scale.

We bridge the gap between creative visual expression and rigorous industrial packaging science — an integrated manufacturing ecosystem built to the standards of global supply chains, protecting product integrity from transit to retail floor.

01

Advanced structural engineering & development

Every solution begins with structural analysis. Using CAD modelling and finite-element structural simulation, our engineers optimise fluting geometry, stackability and load-bearing dynamics. Precisely calculated edge-crush resistance and burst strength give optimal pallet cubing, maximum space utilisation and zero compromised units in sea and air transit.

02

High-fidelity graphic design & surface inlays

Our design studio turns functional shipping units into shelf-ready brand assets — precise typographic workflows, fine-line engravings and custom graphic inlays, with true-to-spec colour, razor-sharp registration and protective barrier coatings for high-humidity handling.

03

High-volume converting & export execution

High-speed automated corrugation, die-cutting and inline slotting lines are built for scale, repeatability and speed: rapid-turnaround production for multi-container export schedules with strict batch-to-batch consistency, from concept prototype to full container-load delivery.

Box testing methods

What each test means for your shipment

Our lab is managed by certified packaging technologists and follows IS, ASTM and TAPPI methods, validating every production run across a three-tier quality architecture. Pick a test to see how it is carried out, what it is reported in and why export buyers ask for it.

Lab test · Structural strength
Stacking load

Box Compression Test (BCT)

Reported in kgf / N

What it measures

The top-to-bottom load a finished box carries before its walls buckle.

How it's tested

An empty, erected box sits between the two platens of a compression tester and is loaded at a constant speed until it fails. The McKee formula lets engineers predict BCT from board ECT, caliper and box perimeter.

Why it matters

Tells you how high cartons can be stacked in a warehouse or a container without collapse.

Lab test · Structural strength
Edge strength

Edge Crush Test (ECT)

Reported in kN/m · lb/in

What it measures

Edgewise compressive strength of the combined board.

How it's tested

A small strip of board is stood on its edge and crushed between platens; the peak force per unit length is recorded.

Why it matters

The single best predictor of stacking strength, and the basis of most modern box specifications.

Lab test · Structural strength
Burst pressure

Bursting Strength (Mullen) (BST)

Reported in kg/cm²

What it measures

The pressure needed to rupture the board face.

How it's tested

The sample is clamped over a rubber diaphragm, which is inflated hydraulically by a digital Mullen tester until the board bursts. The peak pressure is the burst value; burst factor normalises it by grammage.

Why it matters

Indicates resistance to rough handling and to pressure from heavy or shifting contents.

Lab test · Structural strength
Puncture energy

Puncture Resistance (PUN)

Reported in J · kgf·cm

What it measures

The energy needed to drive a pointed head through the board.

How it's tested

A pointed striker on a pendulum or a weighted drop is released from a fixed height onto the sample and the energy absorbed is read off.

Why it matters

Guards against damage from forklift tines, corners and sharp products.

Lab test · Substrate verification
Water absorbed — lower is better

Cobb Test (Water Absorption) (COBB)

Reported in g/m²

What it measures

How much water the liner absorbs in a fixed time.

How it's tested

A measured area of board is exposed to water for a set time (often 60 or 1800 s), blotted under a steel roller and re-weighed. Lower is better.

Why it matters

Critical for cold-chain, humid routes and long sea voyages.

Lab test · Substrate verification
Moisture — lower is better

Moisture Content (MC)

Reported in %

What it measures

The share of water held in the board — held at a 7–9% equilibrium.

How it's tested

Samples are weighed, oven-dried and weighed again, or checked with a calibrated moisture meter on the line.

Why it matters

Board strength falls quickly as moisture rises, and over-dry board turns brittle, so this is checked batch by batch.

Board weight

Grammage & Caliper (GSM)

Reported in g/m² · mm

What it measures

Paper weight per square metre and board thickness.

How it's tested

Cut samples of known area are weighed on precision quadrant scales; caliper is measured with a digital micron gauge under a standard pressure.

Why it matters

Confirms each batch matches the specified paper grades before converting.

Lab test · Converting integrity
Bond strength

Flute Adhesion (Ply Bond) (FA)

Reported in N/m

What it measures

The strength of the bond between liners and flutes.

How it's tested

Pins are inserted between the liner and the medium and pulled apart in a tester until the glue line separates. Starch formulation and viscosity are checked alongside.

Why it matters

Weak bonds delaminate in transit and cut stacking strength sharply.

Lab test · Converting integrity
Print durability

Scuff & Abrasion Resistance (SCF)

Reported in cycles

What it measures

How well printed and outer surfaces survive rubbing.

How it's tested

A weighted test block or wheel rubs the printed surface for a set number of cycles; the print is then graded for wear.

Why it matters

Keeps branding and barcodes legible at the end of the supply chain.

Lab test · Pack performance
Transit survival

Transit Simulation (TRN)

Reported in drop · vibration

What it measures

How the packed product survives real shipping.

How it's tested

Filled packs go through drop tests from set heights and vibration-table runs that mimic truck and sea movement.

Why it matters

Validates the complete pack, not just the board, before export launch.

Lab test · Pack performance
Chemical exposure

Chemical Resistance (CHM)

Reported in pass / fail

What it measures

Whether the board holds up when it meets a chemical.

How it's tested

Board is sealed in a chamber with the chemical for a set period and then inspected for softening, staining or loss of strength.

Why it matters

Needed for packaging that carries detergents, oils or agro-chemicals.

Certificate of Analysis on request. Every outbound consignment can be supported by a Certificate of Analysis, helping maintain consistency across export consignments; QA documentation is maintained for regulated and non-regulated markets.
